Ken Vest is a seasoned communications strategist with nearly twenty years experience in communications campaign management, and media relations on behalf of major Washington DC associations and corporations. Ken also has extensive experience in crisis communications, media training and message development.
He has worked for a wide range of corporate clients, including Prudential Financial, Bridgestone/Firestone, Blue Cross Blue Shield and IDT Communications. Ken also served as a communications executive for three of Washington’s leading associations, AARP, the American Council of Life Insurers and the American Highway Users Alliance. Ken directed media outreach to network and local broadcast and print news organizations. He appeared as a spokesman on network news programs such as Nightline, CBS Morning News, CNN and Primetime Live.
Before launching VestMediaWorks, Ken was a senior counselor at Powell Tate and Burson-Marsteller.
Ken designed and directed a number of successful policy and publicity media programs, including a three year marketing campaign for the financial services industry promoting retirement and security products. The campaign created nearly 20 million impressions nationwide.
He has a strong record of media placements including: the New York Times, LA Times, Washington Post, AP, NBC Nightly News, CBS Evening News, CBS & CNN Radio; Reuters, Business Week, Boston Globe, San Jose Mercury News and postings on nearly 30 television websites.
Ken is also a former broadcast journalist.
